ACTION LEARNING GROUPS -   Action learning is a form of learning by doing and the skilful use of enquiry leads to individual insight and learning. We offer in house action learning group facilitation.

Meet The Team

Jenny McDonald

Jenny has a passion for effective leadership, believing that a combination of evidence and practical application leads to learning and behaviour change. Jenny is a senior leadership development practitioner, specialising in Neuroscience of Leadership.  She has a business background, having begun her career in the City of London as a shipbroker and member of the Baltic and Mercantile Shipping Exchange.

Her primary areas of work are:
  • leadership development
  • senior executive brain based coaching
  • interview skills for leaders.

Dr Paul McDonald

Paul has over two decades of experience in management consulting and academe. Dr McDonald publishes and presents internationally in various aspects of leadership including Neuroscience of Leadership. Paul holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Ivey School, University of Western Ontario.

  • Neuroscience of Leadership presentations
  • strategic facilitation 
  • management consulting.

Martyn Pinckard

Martyn is passionate about the “craft” of management and has a strong focus on the development of management and leadership potential. He enjoys working with people to ensure they are making the most of their role for themselves and maximising the development of their direct reports.

Dave Tams

Dave brings several years of experience as a coach, senior leadership and organisation development practitioner. He has worked at a senior level in multinational businesses including P&O, Marconi and BAE Systems across the UK, Australia and US. In the public sector in New Zealand including being the Organisation Development Manager for the Ministry of Education, HR Director for MSD and Corporate GM for Northland Regional Council

Natalie stevens

Natalie brings a unique executive coaching experience calling on neuroscience to inspire and encourage people to develop and achieve goals far greater than what they ever had imagined possible. She is also a leadership development professional specialising in developing programmes for Executive, Senior Teams and Women early in their careers.

Her primary areas of work are

  • Behavioural Psycology

andrew fox

Andrew brings experience as a senior leadership developer and practitioner specialising in leadership under pressure building cross cultural teams and operating in ambiguous environments. He has a diverse military background ranging from his first appointment studying as an officer cadet at the Australian Defence Force Academy though leading the New Zealand Army's two largest and most complex operation deployments.

His primary areas of work are
  • Development, design and delivery of long and short term leadership programmes
  • Senior executive coaching and facilitation
  • High potential and emerging leaders
  • Strategy design and facilitation

Janne Belton

Janne has comprehensive experience in career consulting and leadership development.
Janne concentrates on  career consulting for emerging and senior leaders, as well as working with people in transition. She also facilitates action and peer learning groups.

Her primary areas of work are:
  • career strategy
  • coaching towards great leadership, from management to leadership
  • career development and transition coaching.

Norman Chorn

Norman is a strategy and organisation development practitioner who works in Australia, UK, New Zealand and South Africa. After leaving a leading consulting firm, Norman founded a strategy and research firm with affiliations in UK and North America.

Norman has particular skills in developing future strategy and aligning organisations with their current and future environments. His integration of neuroscience and strategy principles (neurostrategy) has enabled the development of a range of proprietary techniques and approaches to achieve an enhancement in organisational performance.​

​When you contact us or visit the office, whether it is for a coaching session, workshop planning or an initial meet and greet with one of our coaches, it is paramount to me that you feel comfortable.
I’m here to schedule (and move!) your appointments, set up your contract, arrange your billing and prepare you a hot drink when you arrive.

LEADING A PSYCHOLOGICALLY SAFE WORKPLACE

A brain-based approach
This applied and interactive course is designed to support leaders in leading psychologically safe teams and workplaces. The tools and knowledge you will gain from attending this workshop include:

​Public Sector New People Leader Programme

Moving into a new role as a people leader for the first time feels tougher harder and more lonely than most people expect. To be successful, new people leaders need to build from the behaviours of an individual contributor, to empowering and supporting your people to get the work done.

Continuum Consulting Group are accredited to deliver the Leadership Development Centre New People Leader (NPL) programme for leaders who have transitioned into a leadership role for the first time.

​THINKing ABOUT THINKING

Most professionals add value by thinking and, over time, they become very efficient at thinking.  But, how often do they take time out to reflect, or even question, the nature and processes of their thinking?

Metacognition in simple terms involves “thinking about how we think”. Utilising the brain’s amazing capacity for neuroplasticity, metacognition is central to learning and development. 

A benefit of this session is in the provision of models and specific tools to enhance metacognitive ability as a prelude to action planning.
